Michael Salone earned his Master’s degree in Human Resource Management at Nova University (Florida/USA), and received his Bachelor’s in Psychology and Communications at The Florida State University in 1985.
He began his career at Schlumberger, the world’s largest oilfield services corporation holding increasingly responsible positions in several subsidiaries in the U.S., England and France.
In 1998, he joined Alstom’s Power Sector as Director of Management Development; and soon became Vice President Human Resources for Alstom International Network in 1999. In 2004 Michael was responsible for implementing the Learning & Development Competency Centre within Alstom Transport before becoming Vice President Management Development for the Group from 2004 to 2006.
In September 2006, he was asked to create Alstom University to install a learning culture and a community approach within the Group. Since then, five regional campuses have been created worldwide, In Asia, Europe, India, Latin America and in North America.
